Djembe care / Hands care
A Djembe is not to be played with any sticks, but by hands only
Beware of sharp objects like watches, rings, bracelets that would damage the skin while playing, even if not always visible to the eyes right away.
Djembes do not like brutal temperature change, nor extreme cold temperature conditions, so please don't leave your Djembe in the trunk of your car overnight..specially in Canadian winter...
There are no specific care for the Djembe skin, as the natural oil from your hand palms when regularly drumming is usually enough to keep the necessary humidity conditions for your Djembe skin.
When frequently drumming, it is recommended to use pure Shea butter (Eucarite) on your hand palms.
Make sure you don't put too much of it, as the Djembe skin will absorb it while playing, and become too greasy overtime, modifying the sharpness of the notes you play.
