All musical instruments are authentic pieces imported directly from west Africa
(Guinea, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone.). The craftsmen who create them are descended from families who have produced the same artifacts from generations. They have mastered the techniques of selecting materials and building instruments through the years. Hear for yourself the unique sound that first echoed through Africa and now the world
We made the decision to only repair Drums that have been purchased from us.
All our professional drums including Djembes are assembled in Guinea, and they very rarely fail when used in normal conditions. This is the reason why we chose not to have a permanent repair center like most of the other retailers.
If you purchased a Djembe drum or Doundoumba drum form us that you accidentally damaged, please contact us to see how we can repair it for you. We have premium Doundoumba and Djembe skins (head), as well as an expert re-skinning service available to you here in Toronto-Canada.
We mainly repair drums in the summer because of the high temperature/humidex and direct sunlight exposure required during drying that are key to having a great sounding instrument.
Because 90% of the drums out there are look-alikes Djembes (not authentic Djembes), they potentially have so many defective things that prevent them from sounding like a real Djembe.
We will not get in the business of trying to fix these drums or improve the way they sound.
If you have a Djembe drum or Doundoumba that was not purchased from us, we have premium skin from Guinea available to you.
If you absolutely still would like us to repair your instrument for you, please contact us for a quote, and a decision to repair will be made on a case per case basis after inspecting the instrument.
