Welcome

Alpha Rhythm Roots
At  "Alpha Rhythm Roots", our  dream  is  to bring  the  music, dance, traditions, and culture  of  our country, Guinea, to the world
Guinea, which  boasts some of  the  best djembes in  the world, has a wonderful tradition of music and dance that is too special not to be shared.  It is a tradition that has made us famous in West Africa, a region known throughout the world for its percussion music and dance. Traditional values of many of the ethnic groups have been transmitted through percussion rhythms and dances for centuries..
The roots of these rhythms are the spiritual energy of African people.
By studying our various traditional percussion instruments, one can further develop an understanding of our music, traditions, and culture.

Alpha Rhythm Roots is committed to providing informative drumming classes focused on Guinea rhythmsgroup workshops, performances, Recording, drumming for African dance classes, as well as providing professional authentic West African musical instruments.

You will find the following resources on our web site pages:
Pictures of percussive musical instruments (multiple views) and detailed history, instrument soundfiles, traditional instrument tuning, recommended Djembe tutorial books, advice for purchasing a quality authentic Djembe, Guinea percussion orchestra playing basics, Guinea rhythms and their meaning, Master drummer workshop and African events announcement in and around Toronto,  and much more..
