The Boté is a base drum found among the Soussou people of Guinea, in the costal region.

Made out of a single piece of wood, it is often used/ replaces the big Doundoumba in such rhythms as Guiné Faré / Yoki. It is held with a long neck strap and played with a stick. The player also has a bell in the other hand, with rings on his fingers, to accompany the rhythms played.
